Intensive Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity Throughout Kyiv
During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.
Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.
Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.
A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.
Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor died and multiple civilians were hurt.
The strikes come after nights of air raids in the region, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.
Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting energy systems.
Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
